DeArmond wins sheriff race

Tyler DeArmond will be the next Christian County Sheriff after defeating Democrat Kahle Morris, Jr. by about 2,300 votes.

DeArmond, a Hopkinsville Police Department lieutenant, thanked Morris and independent Frankie Pollard for a clean campaign and says the Christian County Sheriff’s Department will continue to provide quality service under his leadership.

Morris says he appreciates all of the voters who made their voice heard and he appreciates his opponents who stuck to the issues during the campaign.

DeArmond replaces Livy Leavell, who will retire at the end of the year after decades of service as jailer and sheriff.
