The Ohio Valley League Tuesday acknowledged a report first aired by WHOP Sports that the ninth franchise will be in Franklin, KY next season. The league also noted that Franklin will be in the East Division which makes the playoffs different in that division.
The top team will receive a first round bye and play the winner of a play in game between the fourth and fifth place teams, with the second and third place teams playing each other.
The league also announced there will not be an All Star game in the 2019 season and that defending champion Dubois County and the 2018 OVL champion Owensboro Riverdawgs will play in the Bluegrass World Series in Louisville August 5-11.
It was also announced the 2019 schedule will be released November 12th.
