UL football player Averett released from jail today

The Courier Journal reports University of Louisville tight end Kemari Averett made a court appearance today and was released from jail but put on home incarceration. Averett will only be allowed to attend class and then must return home. He was originally held in the Louisville Metro Jail on a $10,000 bond.

Averett was charged with first-degree wanton endangerment and domestic violence after police said he pointed a gun to his girlfriend’s head on Monday and threatened to kill her. The 20-year-old pleaded not guilty to the charges Tuesday and he was suspended from the Louisville football team.
