Defending champion and Louisville native Justin Thomas fired a one over 73, as did Campbellsville native JB Holmes. Nashville’s Brandt Snedeker is at even par 72.
Ariya Jutanugarn shot a 6-under 66 to take a one-stroke lead after the first round of the LPGA Tour’s Buick LPGA Shanghai tournament. Princeton’s Emma Talley had an opening round three over par 75.
