UL has no plans to buyout Petrino’s contract despite losing record

The University of Louisville is in no financial position to buyout the contract of Coach Bobby Petrino. The Courier Journal reports a U of L board member as saying due to buying out new basketball coach Chris Mack’s contract, paying out former U of L athletic director Tom Jurich and the ongoing lawsuit involving former basketball coach Rick Pitino, the funds are not there.

U of L is 2-4 on the season and if the school wanted to buy out Petrino, it would cost them $14 million.
