Four more miles of US 68 will open to four-lane traffic in Trigg County on Friday.
The section of US 68 runs from the west connection with US 68-Business at Cadiz extending eastward to the eastern connection with US 68-Business, according to a news release from the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet.
A state contractor anticipates making the switch to four-lane traffic sometime around noon on Friday, weather permitting.
Motorists should be alert for construction personnel along the roadway during the day Friday moving traffic control equipment to make the shift possible.
Drivers should use appropriate caution and be alert for changes in traffic flow that will be created at intersections along US 68 around Cadiz.
After the traffic shift on Friday, motorists should be aware that it will continue to be an active work zone. Lane restrictions will be required along this section of US 68 to complete ongoing electrical work, as well as landscaping, guardrail work, and other finish work along the project area.
