Crofton man sentenced in attempted ATM break-in, forgery case

The Crofton man arrested late last year after several burglaries and thefts in north Christian County was sentenced Wednesday in Christian Circuit Court.

Joseph ‘Scotty’ Parrott received a three-year sentence as part of a plea deal and he’ll be eligible for shock probation within 30 days. Appearing in court Wednesday, he asked Judge John Atkins to let him out soon, saying he has work lined up and believes he is accepted into a drug addiction treatment program.

Judge Atkins imposed the three-year sentence for charges of felony theft, criminal mischief, forgery and fleeing or evading police.

The Commonwealth opposed early release on probation.

Parrot tried to break into an ATM machine in Crofton on two occasions and eluded capture for several days as he allegedly committed additional crimes.
