MLB: Reds, Cards & Cubs lose-Braves win

In the National League: Christian Yelich continued his MVP push with a three-run homer and six RBI as the Milwaukee Brewers blasted the St. Louis Cardinals 12-4. The Brewers lead the Rockies by three-and-a-half games for the top NL wild card and are just a half-game behind the Cubs in the NL Central.

St. Louis is now a half-game behind Colorado for the second NL wild card. The teams meet again this evening at Busch Stadium.

Chris Archer fired six shutout innings as the Pittsburgh Pirates blanked the Chicago Cubs 6-0. The series continues tonight at Wrigley Field.

The Atlanta Braves used a four-run seventh inning to rally past the New York Mets 7-3. The teams play again this evening in New York.
