Titans rally and hold off Texans in home opener

The Houston Texans ran out of time before they could attempt a tying field goal as the Tennessee Titans held on for a 20-17 win at Nissan Stadium Sunday. Safety Kevin Byard threw a 66-yard touchdown to Dane Cruikshank on a fake punt in the first quarter. Blaine Gabbert threw for a score in Marcus Mariota’s absence due to an elbow injury and Ryan Succop kicked the tying and go-ahead field goals in the fourth period. Titans coach Mike Vrabel says the team earned this win:

The Titans are 1-and-1 and return to action next Sunday at Jacksonville.
