Local EMS crews in NC for Florence

Three Christian County residents who work for Com Care are in North Carolina to assist with the EMS response after Hurricane Florence.

Andy Bass, who is the EMS supervisor in Todd County, says they were staged about 120 miles from the coastline and spent Friday morning waiting for the wind to die down enough to safely respond to calls in their ambulances.

He says the people of North Carolina have been very much appreciative of their presence and willingness to help.

Bass responded to hurricanes Irma and Harvey last year and says the types of calls they help with vary, depending on circumstances.

Zach Frommel and Alex Laux of Christian County are with Bass in North Carolina, in addition to other Com Care personnel representing Todd, Caldwell, Crittenden, Ohio and Logan Counties.
