The deadline for applications to be turned in for the Mayor’s Youth Council has been extended to end of the business day Friday.
High school juniors and seniors from Christian County public, private and home schools are urged to apply for a position on the youth council. Serving on the council affords students the chance to have a voice in the community, offer youth-central solutions and present ideas to local government.
Applications must be turned in by 4:30 p.m. Friday and must include a completed application form, a person essay, two letters of recommendation, signed parental consent form and a photo.
Applications can be hand delivered to the Hopkinsville Municipal Building or emailed to Idalia Luna at the City of Hopkinsville.
Council member interviews will be conducted between September 12 and 17. Selection notices will be sent to all applicants by September 21 before the mandatory orientation scheduled for Wednesday, October 3 at 4:30p.m.
