Boys and Girls Club celebrating positive survey results

The Hopkinsville Boys and Girls Club is celebrating positive survey results from the National Youth Outcomes Initiative, which is built to measure the impact of Boys and Girls Clubs across the nation.

According to a news release, the National Outcomes Survey is administered to club members each spring and the results from the 2018 survey showed 88 percent of students on track for graduation, an increase of 33 percent from 2017. Additionally, the survey results showed a 72 percent expectation of four year college completion, a 22 percent increase from the 2017 results and 4 percent above the national average. The club also showed a 98 percent expectation of high school completion.

Along with academics, club members also said the club provided them with a safe, healthy and fun environment to play and learn in.

Executive Director Terrence Davis says, “The survey really helps us see how our Club members feel about the Club. It also enables us to see how we compare to other Clubs on the state, regional and national levels.”

The Boys and Girls Club of Hopkinsville’s mission is to enable all young people, especially those who need them most, to reach their full potential as caring, responsible and productive citizens.
