A woman was seriously injured in a vehicle versus pedestrian accident Tuesday night in Oak Grove.
It happened just after 8:30 p.m. in the 200 block of State Line Road. Hopkinsville Fire and EMS Captain Michael Pendleton says a man accidentally struck the woman with his vehicle. The victim was taken by ambulance to the Oak Grove EMS station and was flown from there to Vanderbilt University Medical Center.
Radio traffic indicated the injured woman was not able to speak with first responders on scene.
The driver of the vehicle reportedly fired a single gunshot when a crowd gathered near his vehicle, according to emergency personnel who were on scene.
The Oak Grove Police Department is investigating the incident and the Christian County Sheriff’s Department and Kentucky State Police assisted at the scene.
