A Dawson Springs woman was ejected from her vehicle and seriously injured in a wreck Tuesday night in Hopkins County.
It happened about 9:30 p.m. in the 9300 block of Nortonville Road near St. Charles and the Hopkins County Sheriff’s Department says 19-year old Kelsey Sisk of Dawson Springs was westbound when a deer entered her path.
She swerved, left the roadway and struck a driveway culvert.
Her vehicle went airborne, landed about 50 feet away and then came to rest across both lanes of traffic on the roadway.
Witnesses said her vehicle was struck by another automobile, causing Sisk to be ejected. The driver of that vehicle left the scene toward Dawson Springs.
Sisk was flown by helicopter to an area hospital for her injuries. Her passenger, 18-year old Chandler Martin of Madisonville, was not hurt.
Anyone with information on the second vehicle that fled the scene should contact the Hopkins County Sheriff’s Department.
