Fraternal Order of Police gears kids up for school

Students in need of supplies for the new school year in Christian County will be well prepared, thanks to the local Fraternal Order of Police as part of their Stuff the Bus campaign.

The FOP holds fundraisers throughout the year to save up to buy backpacks, paper, pencils and around 20 other different items a student might possibly need. FOP Spokesperson and Hopkinsville Police Lt. Tyler DeArmond says the family resource centers will distribute them to those who need them.

He says the FOP saw a need in the community to help kids, and this effort is all about making sure those students succeed in school.

In total, the FOP raised $7,000 to goes towards school supplies and law enforcement, including the Christian County Sheriff’s Department, Hopkinsville Police Department and Military Police from Fort Campbell delivered those items to the Christian County Board of Education.
