Report: Woman struck boyfriend with metal plate

A woman is charged with felony assault after she allegedly struck her boyfriend with a metal plate during an altercation Monday morning on Daven Drive.

An arrest citation for 27-year old Ashley Renee Johnson of Hopkinsville says her boyfriend started to pack his stuff and leave during an argument about 3 a.m.

He said Johnson got more angry when he packed a bottle of bleach, saying she needed to wash clothes, and that she ripped his shirt and struck him on the head with a metal plate. The victim had a laceration and a knot on his forehead, according to police.

The report says Johnson gave varying stories on what happened and said that her boyfriend struck her first.

Johnson was arrested just before 4 a.m. and is charged with second-degree assault, domestic violence.
