Will Zion Harmon play for Marshall County?

It’s been two months since Zion Harmon announced his decision to transfer from Adair County to Marshall County, however the Courier Journal reports the KHSAA has not ruled him eligible yet. Classes at Marshall County begin August 9th.

However, something that could hold up the decision is the KHSAA investigation into Bowling Green’s boys program, where Harmon played during his 8th grade year. The investigation into alleged recruiting violations is on hold according to KHSAA commissioner Julian Tackett.

That’s due to a lawsuit filed by former girls basketball coach Lavonda Johnson against the Bowling Green Board of Education that is pending. The lawsuit, filed last year, noted Johnson had told the KHSAA about recruiting violations in the 2016-17 school year. Johnson claims in her suit her firing last August was racially motivated.
