Woman arrested for meth, had fugitive of the week in vehicle

One of this week’s Crime Stoppers fugitives of the week was arrested after a foot pursuit Monday afternoon and a woman driving a vehicle he had been inside was arrested on methamphetamine charges.

Hopkinsville Police Officer Robert Stucki stopped 34-year old Jessica Thorn of Hopkinsville after seeing her make a turn on West Second Street without using a signal, according to the report.

A passenger, 39-year old Christopher Shaw of Crofton, exited the car and ran. He hopped several fences and went through several yards before being caught by Officer Gary Hicks and arrested.

Shaw was charged with fleeing or evading police and served with multiple warrants for contempt of court and tampering with an ankle monitor.

Thorn was arrested and charged with trafficking in methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of marijuana. HPD executed a search warrant at a home on South O’Neal Avenue that Thorn fled into and it turned up 11 grams of meth, digital scales, needles, two grams of marijuana and other drug paraphernalia.

Police say she also had meth and a syringe concealed in her clothing.
