Hoppers fall at Owensboro in OVL title game

Owensboro scored in every inning in defeating the Hoptown Hoppers 9-2 and taking the Ohio Valley League championship last night. The Hoppers were held to seven hits, with Nick Proto leading the way with two and John Michael Reed homered in defeat. Kyle Turner took the pitching loss as the Hoppers concluded the season 26-22 while the River Dawgs, who had the best record in the OVL this season, finished 34-15.

The Hoppers open play in the Bluegrass World Series in Louisville today and will also play tomorrow, then face the Louisville Stars in their third game of pool play Friday night.
