The annual Brice Long and Friends benefit concert is coming up Saturday night and all money raised stays in Christian, Todd and Trigg counties.
Long says they’ll get to see him and fellow songwriter Mark Nesler and the night will end with country music and blues singer Casey James, who was a finalist on season nine of American Idol.
While a majority of the money Long’s foundation brings in goes to help struggling families at Christmas, he says some will be used to hand out backpacks of school supplies to students that need help for the upcoming school year.
It’s not just performances, as Long says there will be several items of interest in the silent auction.
The event begins at 7 p.m. Saturday at the James E. Bruce Convention Center and tickets will be available for $10 each at the door. Long also thanked the many sponsors in the three counties who have already made it a big success.
