Man dies after Antioch Church Road accident

The Christian County man severely injured in a car versus moped accident Wednesday afternoon on Antioch Church Road has died from his injuries.

It happened about 1:45 p.m. at the 8 mile-marker of Antioch Church Road.

The man operating the moped, identified as 37-year old Adam Nelson of Hopkinsville,  was flown by Air Evac to Vanderbilt University Medical Center, where he died Wednesday night. According to a news release, both vehicles were in the westbound lane at the time of the collision.  Investigators are still working to determined what happened.

EMS treated the driver of the car for minor injuries at the scene.

It marks four traffic fatalities in Christian County in less than a week. A man was killed Saturday night in a single-vehicle accident at the Pennyrile Parkway-I 24 interchange and two people were killed in a head-on collision Sunday night on KY 115 in Oak Grove.
