Man wanted on warrant arrested following pursuit

A man wanted on an outstanding warrant was arrested early Monday morning following a pursuit and he’s now facing additional charges.

Hopkinsville Police Officer Tyler Hancock saw 32-year old Albert Seabrooks of Hopkinsville disregard a stop sign on a bicycle at West Second and Main Street about 1:15 a.m., according to an arrest citation, which says Seabrooks refused to stop when blue lights and siren were activated.

Officer Hancock saw him reach into his pocket in an attempt to get rid of something as he continued to flee down multiple streets and through a back yard. Seabrooks was eventually located hiding in a storage shed on East Third Street and arrested.

Police say they found a hollowed out metal sharpie with brillo pad and with burn marks on it where Seabrooks had discarded the item. The report says it is consistent with crack cocaine use.

Seabrooks was served with the warrant for failing to appear in court and was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, fleeing or evading police, tampering with evidence and disregarding a stop sign.
