Construction on improvements to KY 115 between Pembroke and Oak Grove is expected to begin later this summer.
Representative Myron Dossett says funds have been approved from the Kentucky Highway Safety Improvement Program and it will correlate with funding in the state road plan for repaving the section from Pembroke to I-24 in Oak Grove.
A news release says the improvements on the stretch of road will be completed and then the section of the road will be repaved.
Representative Dossett says he reached out to Kentucky State Police while looking at potential construction of a new Bypass from Pembroke Road to KY 115, he learned it is one of the more dangerous stretches of road in the state based on the number of accidents and fatalities.
