Thunderstorms brought flooding and power outages to the southern Pennyrile region Sunday.
You could find water standing in all of the usual places in Hopkinsville by about 9:30 a.m. and at least one vehicle became disabled trying to make it through high water at East Ninth and the Railroad. The occupants of the car were able to exit safely.
The Mesonet sites in Christian and Trigg counties recorded over two inches of rain between two rounds of storms, but amounts were higher in parts of the region.
About 700 Pennyrile Electric members were without power in Trigg County at one time and a tree was blown onto Antioch Church Road in Christian County.
The second round of rough weather during the afternoon brought a severe thunderstorm warning to Trigg County, but there were no reports of injuries or damage to homes anywhere in the region.
