The Hoptown Hoppers dropped both ends of a doubleheader last night to Muhlenberg County 11-4 in the opener and 7-2 in the nightcap.
The Hoppers took a 1-0 at the end of the first inning in the opening game before the Stallions struck for two in the top of the 2nd thanks in part to a home run by Kyle O’ Brien. The Stallions would go up 4-1 in the fourth and add seven runs in their next three at bats. Nick Proto, MJ Rookard, Blake Jackson, Matt Keane and John Michael Reed had the five Hopper hits with Shane Burns taking the pitching loss.
In the nightcap, the Hoppers were held to four hits with Cord Johnson hitting a home run and Blake Jackson went 2-3. Last night in the OVL: Paducah got by Fulton 25-18, Owensboro crushed Madisonville 14-4 and Henderson defeated Dubois County 14-6.
Tonight in the OVL: Muhlenberg County welcomes Madisonville, Dubois County visits Fulton and Owensboro entertains Paducah.
