The Cleveland Indians exploded for nine runs in the third inning and six in the fourth as they hammered the Cincinnati Reds 19-4. Tyler Mahle didn’t make it out of the third inning, giving up seven runs to take the loss. Scooter Gennett and Jesse Winkler each put one in the seats for Cincinnati who is off today before meeting the St. Louis Cardinals in a three game weekend series beginning tomorrow night.

In other Interleague action: The St. Louis Cardinals were held to four hits in a 4-0 loss to the Chicago White Sox. Luke Weaver allowed just one run in six frames to take the tough-luck loss. Matt Carpenter’s double was the only extra-base hit for St. Louis. The Cards settled for a split of the two-game Interleague series and are off today.

Ozzie Albies homered twice as the Atlanta Braves built a 7-0 lead and held off the Toronto Blue Jays 9-5 at SunTrust Park. The Braves close out the first half of the season with a three-game series against the Arizona Diamondbacks starting tomorrow night.

In the National League: The Chicago Cubs overcame a 4-0 first-inning deficit only to lose 5-4 to the San Francisco Giants in 13 innings. James Norwood gave up the game-winning hit to Buster Posey. Jason Heyward, Kris Bryant and Javier Baez homered for Chicago. The Cubs visit the San Diego Padres starting tomorrow.
