Two facing felony charges following Cox Mill pursuit

A Hopkinsville man and a juvenile were arrested by the Hopkinsville Police Department early Monday morning following a pursuit on Cox Mill Road.

According to the police reports, officers observed a vehicle going 45 miles per hour in a 35 miles per hour zone. When a traffic stop was attempted at the intersection of Cox Mill Road and County Club Lane, the vehicle allegedly accelerated and fled down Cox Mill.

The reports states that the occupants of the car could be seen throwing something from the windows while the pursuit was in progress. The pursuit came to an end at the intersection of Woodmont Drive and 20-year old Adrian Acree of Hopkinsville and an unnamed juvenile were arrested.

A search of the area reportedly revealed two handguns loaded with restricted ammunition, and one of the guns were reported stolen.

Acree and the juvenile were charged with tampering with physical evidence, fleeing or evading police, possession of a handgun by a minor, receiving stolen property, using restricted ammunition during a felony and speeding.
