Haley to run for mayor of Elkton

A longtime Elkton city councilman has decided to make a bid for mayor in November and recently filed his paperwork to do so.

David Haley currently sits on Elkton City Council and has held that seat for 13 years in total. When asked why he decided to run for mayor, Haley says it was his love for Elkton and desire to help the community that encouraged him.

He says he wants to make long-term improvements, including making sure aging water and sewage lines are replaced and modifying the existing zoning regulations.

As for the people of Elkton and Todd County—because he says he has the best in mind for everyone, not just those in Elkton—Haley says he will not let them down if elected.

Having filed for Elkton City Council are Doug Gibson, Danny Laster, Michael Case, Frank McReynolds and David Powell. All are incumbent and the election is non-partisan, so the top six vote-getters will win the election.
