A garage on Kenwood Drive was destroyed by fire Thursday afternoon and two homes nearby was damaged by the heat.
According to Hopkinsville Fire Department Captain Michael Pendleton, three stations responded to the structure fire in the 2700 block of Kenwood Drive around 6:10 p.m. When they arrived on scene, the two-car garage was fully engulfed and fire fighters were able to extinguish the blaze quickly.
The garage is a total loss and two homes adjacent to the structure had damage to vinyl siding due to radiant heat. No residents were home at the time of the fire and no one was injured.
The cause of the fire has not yet been determined.
