A Hopkinsville man is facing numerous charges following a foot pursuit on Denzil Drive Wednesday afternoon, including fleeing police and fourth-degree assault.
According to the Hopkinsville police report, officers responded to a residence on Denzil Drive in reference to reports of a fight in progress where one of those possibly had a gun. Upon arrival, contact was made with a female victim, who had minor visible injuries visible where she had been struck with a fist.
When officers attempted to speak with the suspect, 40-year old John Pucker of Hopkinsville, he reportedly jumped off a two story balcony and fled. Officers were able to catch him after a short foot pursuit, but he allegedly resisted arrested by tucking his arms under his body.
Pucker was arrested and charged with fleeing or evading police, fourth-degree assault and resisting arrest. He was additionally served with a warrant for contempt of court.
