Murray State basketball coach Matt McMahon recently signed a contract extension that will run through the 2021-22 season. WPSD-Paducah indicates McMahon will receive $400-thousand between his salary and media obligations per season.
There’s an automatic rollover clause that will extend the deal one year if neither McMahon nor Murray State has ended the agreement prior to June 1, 2019. If McMahon is dismissed for any reason, he will get half of the remaining salary owed to him for the duration of the contract.
If McMahon leaves Murray State to become a head coach at another Division I school before his contract expires, he will owe the university $395-thousand.
