Jose Peraza smacked a grand slam to help the Cincinnati Reds rout the Milwaukee Brewers 8-2. Matt Harvey allowed two hits and no walks over five-and-two-thirds innings for the win. Elsewhere in the National League: The Atlanta Braves scored five times in the sixth inning and hung on to clip the St. Louis Cardinals 6-5. Freddie Freeman hit a two-run homer as Atlanta swept the three-game series. The Braves open an interleague series at the New York Yankees this evening while the Cardinals open a series at the Arizona Diamondbacks.
Interleague: Jon Lester hit a three-run homer to ignite an eight-run second inning and the Chicago Cubs held on to top the Minnesota Twins 11-10. The Cubs are off today before beginning another Interleague series with the Detroit Tigers tomorrow.
