The Heat Advisory for western Kentucky has been extended until 8 p.m. Sunday.
The National Weather Service in Paducah says temperatures in the 90’s will mix with humidity to make the heat index climb from 100 to 105 on Sunday.
It’s advised to move outdoor work to the early morning or late evening hours when it’s cooler when possible. If you must spend time outdoors, be sure and drink plenty of fluids and take frequent breaks in a shady area or in an air conditioned building.
Check on the elderly, the very young and those without air conditioning.
Wear light weight and loose-fitting clothing and never leave a child or pet in a hot car for any period of time.
