Hoppers split pair of games with Dubois County

The Hoptown Hoppers split a doubleheader with the Dubois County Bombers last night at Colonel Field.

The Bombers won game one 6-5 scoring twice in the top of the 7th inning to get the win after the Hoppers Blake Jackson hit his seventh home run of the season to give the Hoppers a 5-4 lead. Cord Johnson had two hits in the game with relief ace Hassan Westbrook taking the loss.

The nightcap was also a one run affair won by the Hoppers 4-3. The Hoppers jumped out to a 3-0 lead before the Bombers tied the game in the top of the fourth. Cole Cummings ground out into a double play in the bottom of the 4th brought home Max Remy with what proved to be the winning run. Cummings had two hits and two runs batted in as Jaxon Herchenback in relief got the pitching win.

In five games between the Hoppers and Bombers this season, four of them have been decided by one run.
