DENSO Air Systems has announced plans for a $3.5 million expansion to its Hopkinsville plant that should create approximately 45 new jobs.
DENSO Air Systems will build a 48,000-square-foot addition onto its facility on Frank Yost Lane in Hopkinsville, doubling the building’s footprint, according to a news release from the office of Governor Matt Bevin.
The company also will purchase new equipment to help meet rising customer demand. The expansion will boost production of aluminum HVAC pipes, tubes and hose assemblies for the automotive industry.
Governor Bevin called the announcement “exciting news” for Christian County and for Kentucky and South West Kentucky Economic Development Council Executive Director Mark Lindsey says, “It demonstrates the commitment from our existing industry and we look forward to the continued partnership.”
Senator Whitney Westerfield thanked local officials who helped make the project possible, Representative Myron Dossett says the expansion would not have happened without “pro-employment policies of the House majority,” Mayor Carter Hendricks says it’ proof the community is “a great place to do business,” and Judge-Executive Steve Tribble says the new jobs will benefit local citizens and the surrounding region.
The project is being assisted by a variety of incentives from city, county and state government.
