Elsewhere in the National League: Javier Baez carried the Chicago Cubs’ offense in their 9-4 win over the Los Angeles Dodgers at Chavez Ravine. Baez had four hits, two homers and five RBI. The teams play again tonight.
Interleague: Matt Carpenter went 5-5 with a pair of home runs as the St. Louis Cardinals crushed the Cleveland Indians 11-2. The Cardinals have won four straight as the teams conclude the series tonight at Busch Stadium.
