The Clarksville Police Department has identified the woman killed in a shooting near Franklin Street Sunday night.
According to a news release, the victim is 22-year old Taren Lyles of Clarksville. As previously reported, she was found inside of a vehicle in a field near Franklin and 11th Streets around 8:30 p.m. Sunday with gunshot wounds. She was transported to Tennova Health Hospital where she was pronounced deceased.
Further investigation reportedly revealed her two young children in the backseat of the vehicle, restrained in proper car seats. They were unharmed despite the multiple gun shots fired into the vehicle and they are now safe and staying with family members.
