Recently appointed Todd County Judge-Executive Todd Mansfield took the constitutional oath of office as he was sworn in Monday afternoon by Circuit Judge Tyler Gill.
Judge Mansfield says he has a lot to learn in the first few weeks, but he has good people around him willing to help.
The first challenge is finding a company for curbside trash pickup in rural areas of Todd County after Republic Services announced last week that they are pulling out at the end of the month. Mansfield says they are confident there will be a provider in place when Republic is gone.
He notes that Todd Fiscal Court wasn’t given any more notice of Republic’s plan than the general public received, with most receiving a letter Friday.
Mansfield replaces Daryl Greenfield, who resigned in March. He is unopposed in the November general election.
