Traffic stop leads to meth arrest

A traffic stop at North Main Street and Hilltop Drive Thursday night led to the arrest of the driver on a methamphetamine charge.

Officers stopped 39-year old Barbara Murphy of Hopkinsville about 10:30 p.m. for driving with only one headlight and an arrest citation says she gave consent to search her car. Two small plastic baggies containing methamphetamine were found in the pocket of the passenger side door panel. Murphy reportedly denied the items belonged to her.

She was arrested and Hopkinsville Police charged her with possession of methamphetamine.
