Two arrested for assault, unlawful imprisonment

Two people are charged with first-degree assault and other felonies after an alleged incident last month on Butler Road.

Arrest warrants for 28-year old Chase Cooper and 27-year old Terry Sargent of Hopkinsville allege that they and a third suspect blocked Brianna Ternan and Elizabeth Higgins with Cooper’s vehicle on Butler Road May 17th.

Sargent and the third suspect, who has not been arrested, allegedly had guns that were held to Higgins’ head and used to threaten Ternan. The third suspect pistol-whipped Ternan on the forehead with the handgun, causing injury.

Cooper and Sargent are charged with first-degree assault, first-degree wanton endangerment, unlawful imprisonment and criminal mischief.

The incident was investigated by the Christian County Sheriff’s Department and the warrants served by Hopkinsville Police.
