Motown at the Museum to raise funds for renovation

The Museums of Historic Hopkinsville-Christian County will be putting on a large fundraiser on June 30 and people are encouraged to come out and enjoy Motown at the Museum.

The event will play host to the well-known band, Motown Sounds of Touch, which has shared the stage with the Temptations and Al Green. Museum Director Alissa Keller says it will be a fun night of dancing and music that will help raise money to benefit the capital campaign for completely renovations at the museum.

The event will take place in the newly emptied out Pennyroyal Area Museum on East Ninth Street so people can see what the building looks like before renovations begin in earnest. Keller says the staff has been working hard to get all the items into storage.

Tickets for Motown at the Museum are $50 per person and the doors open at 6:30 p.m. that evening with the music beginning at 7:30 p.m. Tickets can be purchased at the Visitor’s Center at 1730 East Ninth Street or by clicking here.
