University of Tennessee linebacker Darrin Kirkland Junior is staying in Knoxville after announcing his intentions to transfer last week. Coach Jeremy Pruitt met with Kirkland and his parents and the two sides agreed that it would be best for him to remain with the Volunteers. The junior defensive player is expected to play a major role with the Vols this season after missing all of last year recovering from knee surgery.
