Jessie Goslyn, Jarred Long sentenced in Fidelio Rd. murder

Discussions became heated during final sentencing for Jessie Goslyn Wednesday in Christian Circuit Court, the woman who took a plea deal for complicity to murder for plotting her husband’s death.

Goslyn, who took a plea deal that came with a 22 year recommended sentence for her part in Vincent Goslyn’s death on Fidelio Road, appeared with her attorneys Clay Beineke and Bill Maddux. Beineke requested that the final sentencing be delayed and an evidentiary hearing be scheduled, due to Jessie Goslyn saying Vincent had domestically abused her and that’s why she plotted his murder.

If evidence proved that she was abused, her sentence could possibly be affected by making her eligible for parole sooner. Commonwealth’s Attorney Lynn Pryor vehemently disagreed, saying there were never any mentions of abuse during plea discussions and threatened to withdraw the plea entirely.

Goslyn’s co-defendant Jarred Long, who entered a guilty plea for the murder of Vincent Goslyn, requested his final sentence be postponed as well, until something was determined for Jessie Goslyn.

After much discussion, Goslyn withdrew her motion to have an evidentiary hearing about domestic abuse upon counsel from her attorneys. Final sentencing happened as planned Wednesday, with Circuit Judge Andrew Self imposing the sentence of 22 years on Jessie Goslyn and 30 years on Long.

Monica English read a letter on behalf of the victim’s family, saying that due to Goslyn’s and Long’s plot, five children will grow up without their father or mother.

Long spoke to the court, saying he apologized for Vincent Goslyn’s death but maintained he did not kill him for money.

Jessie Goslyn lured her husband, a Fort Campbell soldier, to Fidelio Road in Christian County where Long was pretending to have car troubles. When Vincent Goslyn stopped to help, Long shot him multiple times, killing him.
