Local man arrested for 4th DUI

A traffic stop on South Elm Street Friday night led to the arrest of a local man for his fourth DUI and his second in two months.

Hopkinsville Police Officer Rogers Stephens writes on an arrest citation that he witnessed 27-year old Shycorian Bailey of Hopkinsville weaving back and forth on West Second Street and he was stopped on South Elm.

Bailey quickly got out of his car and the report says there was a strong odor of alcohol coming from his person, he became agitated and refused to take field sobriety tests.

A computer check revealed three prior DUI’s, including a most recent incident in March. It was also the third time he was arrested for driving with a suspended license.

There was a half full can of beer in the car, according to the report, which adds a charge for having the open container.
