Couple arrested for drug, gun charges

An investigation at a Redbud Drive home early Saturday morning led to the arrests of two people on multiple drug charges.

Hopkinsville Police went to 117 Redbud about 1:40 a.m. for a domestic disturbance and a strong odor of marijuana came from the home when 30-year old Benjamin Little opened the door, according to an arrest citation.

A jar of marijuana was located on the ground outside a garage and a search warrant was obtained.

Police reportedly found three-and-a-quarter lbs. of marijuana, just under 14 lbs. of marijuana in a deep freezer and an indoor marijuana grow operation with four plants.

Two small baggies of synthetic marijuana were also allegedly found, in addition to cocaine where Benjamin Little had been sitting prior to being placed in custody.  Two rifles, a shot gun, rolling papers and marijuana pipes were also located, according to police.

Benjamin Little and 36-year old Shannon Little of Hopkinsville were arrested for trafficking in marijuana, cultivating marijuana, trafficking in a controlled substance, trafficking in synthetic drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Benjamin was also charged with tampering with evidence and Shannon with possession of guns by a convicted felon.
