Friday night’s HS Baseball-Softball Results

Baseball: Christian County concluded district play with a perfect 6-0 mark after defeating University Heights 10-3 at Colonel Field Friday evening. UHA took a 1-0 after the first half inning, before the Colonels scored four in the bottom of the first. The Blazers got two of the runs back in the second inning to get within 4-3, but Christian County scored six times in its next two at bats to get the victory.

Elijah Owens had three hits for the Colonels, with Wyatt Stevenson and winning pitcher Austin Field adding two hits each. UHA was held to five hits, two of them doubles by Drew McGowan. Tanner Thomas took the pitching loss for the Blazers who finished district play 2-4.

In other action: Apollo blasted Hopkinsville 11-1 in 5 innings, Warren Central slayed Fort Campbell 16-2 in 5 innings, Dawson Springs swept a doubleheader, 12-0 in 6 innings over Fulton City and 13-1 also in 6 innings over Fulton County, Hopkins Central drubbed Whitesville Trinity 14-2, Madisonville topped Crittenden County 12-4, Owensboro edged Muhlenberg County 2-1.

Softball: Christian County blasted Union County 16-0 in 5 innings, Franklin Simpson defeated Hopkinsville 6-1, Livingston Central blanked University Heights 15-0 in 3 innings, Christian Fellowship swept Fort Campbell 19-3 in 6 innings and 26-4 in 3 innings, Logan County topped Glasgow 18-3 in 5 innings, Russellville over Whitesville Trinity 9-4, Todd Central crushed McLean County 12-2 in 5 innings and Trigg County blanked Muhlenberg County 4-0.
