The Kentucky New Era is citing documents from an open records request in reporting that the Christian County Public School System has parted ways with three employees linked to a sheriff’s department investigation.
The paper reports that assistant boys’ basketball coach Marcoreyon Tandy and instructor Ada Michelle Thorson were both fired, effective April 16, following an internal investigation that indicated both “engaged in inappropriate/unprofessional behavior with students.” Both had been on administrative leave prior to their termination.
Another assistant coach, Nicholas Riley, was placed on leave February 19 following “student allegations,” and the paper cites documents notifying Riley that his contract will not be renewed.
The Christian County Sheriff’s Department confirmed the existence of an investigation in February and has not released any additional information.
