MLB Roundup- Reds, Cubs, Braves win, Cardinals lose

Eugenio Suarez went 3-for-4 with four RBI to lead the Cincinnati Reds to a 7-2 win over the NY Mets at Great American Ball Park. Scooter Gennett added a two-run homer for the Reds, who close out the series with the Mets this afternoon.

Elsewhere in the National League: The Chicago Cubs spotted the Miami Marlins a 3-0 lead in the first inning before rallying for a 4-3 win at Wrigley Field. The series continues this afternoon.

Interleague: The St. Louis Cardinals had more hits than errors in a 7-1 loss to the Minnesota Twins at Busch Stadium. St. Louis had just two hits, but made three errors in getting swept in the two-game series. The Cardinals open a series at the San Diego Padres tomorrow night.

Sean Newcomb and four relievers combined on a five-hitter as the Atlanta Braves blanked the Tampa Bay Rays 1-0 at Tropicana Field. Ronald Acuna Jr. provided the game’s only run with a solo homer in the third inning. The series concludes tonight.
