Focus 21st Century Minority Leadership will host a series of debates prior to the May primary election and there will be a meet and greet with candidates next week in Oak Grove.
The Focus debates are all in the Hopkinsville Community College Auditorium and they begin Thursday evening at 6 with candidates for Hopkinsville City Council, followed by the two Democrats running for Christian circuit court clerk—Paige Eli Parker and Trent Haddock.
It’s possible that none of the incumbent council members will be able to participate, as they are scheduled to be discussing the city’s proposed budget at a special-called Committee of the Whole meeting.
The candidates for Christian County sheriff and coroner will debate on Tuesday, May 15 and the Democrats running for Congress and Republicans running for state representative in District 4 on May 17.
Oak Grove’s candidate meet and greet will be Friday, May 11 at 5:30 p.m. in the Oak Grove Community Center.
