Hopkinsville Police are investigating after fake money was used to buy gas Thursday afternoon.
A female suspect passed a counterfeit $50 bill to purchase fuel at Murphy Oil in front of Walmart on Clinic Drive about 3 p.m., according to the report filed with HPD.
The incident is being investigated as theft by deception and criminal possession of a forged instrument.
